Ingredients:
- 1 cup Aadi’s Chana Dal
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons Aadi’s Pure Desi Cow Ghee
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Wash Aadi’s Chana Dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a pressure cooker, heat Aadi’s Pure Desi Cow Ghee. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies. Sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- Drain the soaked chana dal and add it to the cooker. Stir well.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix until the spices are well combined.
- Pour in 2 cups of water and close the pressure cooker lid. Cook for about 4-5 whistles or until the chana dal is soft and cooked through.
- Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and give the dal a good stir.
- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
Chana Dal Chaat
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Aadi’s Chana Dal, soaked overnight and boiled until tender
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1 cucumber, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon tamarind chutney
- 1 tablespoon green chutney
- 1 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Sev (thin crispy noodles) for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the boiled Aadi’s Chana Dal, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, green chili, and fresh coriander leaves.
- Add tamarind chutney, green chutney, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder (if using), and salt to taste.
- Mix everything well until all the ingredients are evenly coated with the chutneys and spices.
- Transfer the prepared chaat to serving bowls.
- Garnish with a generous amount of sev on top.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
